Silence

When the first of May rolled around, I decided to take a 30 day break from blogging.

Not so much to get away from the blog itself, but to get away from the constant internet and social media time that running the blog requires. I shut down my personal Facebook page (until I remembered that the blog page is connected to my personal page. Oops! Sorry about that!) stopped surfing blogs, and completely ignored the computer for everything except checking the weather.

It was AWESOME.

I couldn’t believe how much free time I had!!

I spent a lot of time planting and weeding the garden.

Most crazy of all, was how much reading I did. I am such a bookworm, but I had given it up for quite a few months because I was pretty caught up in blogging and working around the new house. The little technology break allowed me to revisit some of my favorite old books, and try out some new ones as well.  The only downfall of reading, is that I have a VERY hard time stopping. Ha!

Overall, I enjoyed the silence of a media and technology free life so very much, but I did miss my awesome blogging friends and readers.

Now, I am returning to blogging, but some of my posts may be a bit more introspective and “lifey” rather than just “how to” posts.

What would you like to see me post about in the next month or so? Shout out in the comments below!

  1. Glad you had a good and productive month. I blog just once a week, it gives me more time too. After all we want to live and not just write about it ;). Glad you are beck though. Look forward to read more from you. And if it is just once a month, that is OK too, you have a precious little one to look after.

I just recently found your blog, and I’m so excited to read more. We are currently making an offer on 13.58 acres so your blog is perfect for this time in my life. Looking forward to learning more about modern homesteading and your life.
