10 Item Wardrobe Fall/Winter 2016

I used to think I had a “minimalist wardrobe“. I also used to think that I didn’t really care much about fashion, shopping, or looking chic. All that changed a year and a half ago when I listened to a TedX talk by Jennifer L. Scott.

Here is my 10 item wardrobe for fall/winter 2016:

You are so adorable! I love your picks for 2016 fall/winter. Especially love the navy blue dress. Navy is one of my favorite colors. I am following the 10 item wardrobe this fall/winter (my first round). I’m so happy with my clothing choices this season. Great job on the video.

I find it so much easier to get dressed in the mornings now that there are fewer items in my closet, and all of good quality. And I dress much better on a daily basis since I got rid of any clothes that I previously had designated as “grubby clothes”. If I’m doing something messy, I put on an apron. If I am going to be doing something that would actually ruin my clothes, like painting the house, I buy jeans and a t-shirt from Goodwill, wear that as my uniform for the duration of the painting job, then throw it away. If you don’t own grubby clothes, you won’t wear them. Don’t ever save some article of clothing “for special”; every day is special. And it doesn’t take a lot of money to buy quality. I don’t shop in regular stores, only in consignment shops, thrift shops, and at garage sales. You would be surprised at the quality things I find for a fraction of the retail price.
